Today we welcome the World Ozone Day; this year’s theme is “Global Cooperation Protecting Life on Earth.“
This year’s theme highlights the need to develop global cooperation to address climate challenges and protect life on earth for future generations. Still to this day, the ozone layer is in danger and the need for continuous control, measurement, improvement within all sectors is paramount.
During their operation, businesses produce waste and harmful emissions; depletion of the ozone layer is one of the repercussions of ongoing harmful emissions. It is thus essential to recognize and control our impact within the industry when it occurs.
In order to prevent ozone depletion, a business should first identify their impact, and try to minimise harmful compounds produced by operations, use environmentally friendly methods and create environmental awareness amongst employees.
ISO 14001 on environmental management provides a sound basis for businesses seeking to control their environmental impact and improve environmental performance. By establishing and maintaining a robust environmental management system along with good environmental practices, you can stop further damage.
It is a Social Responsibility. The ozone layer has the potential to fully recover!
