International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer 16 September 2021

World Ozone Day is an event that takes place every year on the 16th of September. This year’s theme for the celebration of the Ozone is “Montreal Protocol – Keeping us, our food and vaccines cool“.

This year the World Ozone Day seeks to highlight, the principal of the Montreal Protocol which is to protect the ozone layer by taking measures to control total global production and consumption of substances that deplete it.

Montreal Protocol aims to slow the climate change and to boost energy efficiency in the cooling sector, which contributes to food security. The Protocol has been universally ratified by all 197-member countries of United Nations since 1987, by taking the pledge to restrain those chemical substances that deplete Earth’s ozone layer.

Even to this day the ozone layer is in danger and it is a paramount the need for continuous measurement, study and protection.

The Depletion of the Ozone layer is one of the most important environmental issues that raise the requirements for the need of the Environmental Management System. ISO 14001:2015 is introduced by ISO organization and focuses on the management of Environment to save nature Earth.
