World Earth Day – 22 April 2022
World Earth Day is celebrated annually on 22 of April. Earth Day has been celebrated since 1970. It was first observed in the United States. Earthday yearly festivities have helped to raise awareness around environmental issues that threatens our lives and our Earth. According to earthday.org the world’s largest environmental organization, the purpose of Earth Day is to “diversify, educate, energize the environmental movement around the globe.”
This year’s Earth Day theme is “Invest in our Planet”. “For Earth Day 2022, we need to act (boldly), innovate (broadly), and implement (equitably)”. “This is the moment to change it all — the business climate, the political climate, and how we take action on climate. Now is the time for the unstoppable courage to preserve and protect our health, our families, our livelihoods… together, we must ‘Invest In Our Planet’,” it said on https://www.earthday.org/take-action-now/ .
